Durham Art Gallery: Comtemporary Canadian Art

About

The Common Pulse Arts Festival is a biennial series of events that focus on important current developments that are taking place in the Canadian art and culture scene.

Initiated in 2011 by Ilse Gassinger and Geoffrey Shea, the first two festivals have been mounted in collaboration with the Durham Art Gallery and OCAD University. Based in the rural community of Durham, two hours northwest of Toronto, Common Pulse builds on the long-standing and vibrant art activities that have revolved around the Durham Art Gallery over the past two decades. The Gallery has hosted the Fabulous Festival of Fringe Film, the Words Aloud Spoken Word Festival, an international artist-in-residence program together with United Media Arts as well as numerous artists.
